Material to the core

First and foremost Sessile is a workshop, a creative space in which we have a direct relationship with the material. It is there, hands and eyes on the wood, that the imagination sets in motion to give life to our furnitures. Using sketches and technical drawings, we conceptualize our inspirations and those of our clients. Volumes, geometries and proportions are the result of matured decisions responding to specific needs.

Mainly made of wood, our furnitures frequently incorporate other materials such as steel, brass or aluminum which provide their physical and aesthetic characteristics.

At Sessile, we seek elegance and durability for our creations.

Founded by Jaime Garcia Barocio (architect / designer / woodworker) and Gaspard de Clermont-Tonnerre (owner and forest manager / cabinetmaker), Sessile stands out for its involvement at all stages of the production chain: search for wood in the forest, design furniture and manufacture them directly in our workshop. Our production is entirely made in France using French wood from short circuit.

The shortest circuit

Sustainably managed and PEFC certified, our family-owned forest located in Northern France represents 90% of our wood supply. We carefully choose each standing tree according to our needs. They are then sawn and dried on site before joining our Parisian workshop.

We wanted this circuit to be as short as possible to guarantee an irreproachable quality of wood but also to minimize our environmental footprint.
